Kukkaku Konzaimon

This is a historical fiction taking place in Japan during the 1850s. Kukkaku Konzaimon is a nineteen year old samurai in service to the Emporer, acting as his bodyguard. When several officers in service to the emporer are murdered, the Shogun declares a state of emergency, urging police and the samurai tp search for any clues as to who is killing the officers. Naturally, since his family was killed by the same person, Kukkaku gladly (and vengefully) takes the job seriously to avenge the murder of his family. This state of emergency only gets when strange things start to happen with the murderers trail of bodies. They come back to life!!! 19th century Japan is on the verge of collapse when the shogun is killed by the same person and the whole system is thrown into turmoil! Who is this killer and what is he planning? How are the bodies suddenly re-awakening and able to kill more people? Most importantly, will Kukkaku end up being the one to solve it all?
